We know that many retirees wake up some mornings and wonder what they can do to pass the day. At Kurrajong Sanctuary that choice is all yours. What shall it be today?

The choice is a wide choice which varies from time to time and can include the following:

• From billiards to bingo to bowls
• From arts and crafts to gentle aerobics
• From Tai Chi to tennis
• From darts to aqua exercise
• From croquet to crochet
• From library to meditation
• Even Weekly church services.
• Plus numerous other attractions

All of these facilities are shared with our sister village “Bindawalla Gardens” located next door on the southern side of Kurrajong Sanctuary.

At Kurrajong Sanctuary when family or friends come to visit and you need a bit more room you are welcome to take them to your own Community Centre for a cuppa.

Out doors, we offer a pool that is designed to allow ease of access (no ladder to climb). The pool incorporates a therapeutic spa shelf where the spa jets are positioned just right for that lower back-ache.

We also learnt in our research that you prefer a pool where you can keep your head above water so we built it with a depth between 4 and 5 feet. Aqua aerobics...no problem!

You have use of the synthetic bowling green, tennis court /croquet court. (Actually if you haven't tried croquet before it is a very enjoyable and easy to learn, but also a challenging and rewarding game to play).

There is even a large multi-hole putting green to help you fine tune that "perfect putt". Just watch the bunker !!

Having the family or friends over? Make a be-line for one of our barbecue areas where you can enjoy your steak in shade and comfort. It is just like going to a beach or a park for a family barbecue except you don't have to worry about tables and chairs or is the gas bottle full, and best of all, the mess is not left at your place.

You can even grab a coldie from our licensed bar which is open for restricted hours. Maybe after that, challenge the kids to a putting competition or a game of pool, or even just slip into the swimming pool and relax. With the facilities that we offer you your friends and family will probably call in more often.

In our magnificent 600 square metre community centre we have weekly pool and darts, indoor bowls and bingo. In fact, about 100 separate activities each month all run by residents for residents! These facilities and equipment are maintained at a high standard by the funds raised by dedicated members of our social club.

We even have a large TV projector and screen so you can join your friends to watch Wimbleton, cricket or even footie finals. Oh, something else, we are very proud that our facilities and our cenotaph are to the standard that Kurrajong Sanctuary and Bindawalla Gardens hosts the official ANZAC service for the Burpengary district.

If you enjoy a good read you have access to our well stocked library which also features a computer with internet access so you can write to friends and family as well as research topics you are interested in. There is no additional cost involved with this service.

Perhaps you enjoy arts and crafts. Our arts and crafts group has their own large room dedicated solely to them with large tables and wash up tub. And they are always looking for new people with new ideas to create new crafts.

If you can hold a tune we have a choir which travels to other villages as well as entertaining our own residents. Our residents each year also put on a full scale musical stage show completely produced by our own residents.

Of course you don't have to run yourself ragged doing everything that we offer, many of our residents just enjoy the peace and quiet and security that is the essence of Kurrajong Sanctuary.

With a fully fenced boundary and security gates and 24 hour on site caretakers, your security is something that we value.

When did you last go for a walk without being concerned about your neighbourhood dogs? Kurrajong Sanctuary and Bindawalla Gardens have a "no dogs and no cats" policy.

Enjoyment Need Not be Expensive!

As most of the happenings and activities in the Village are organised by residents, in most cases there is no cost involved so even enjoying yourself is not going to be tugging at your purse strings. However, for any organized activity there is a small cost involved such as the regular bus trips to various clubs other places of interest, and social club events. With our Social Club events we try to keep costs to a minimum.

If you enjoy a social drink our licensed bar in the Village community hall is very reasonably priced and you will enjoy the services of a professional barman.

Kurrajong and it's sister Village, Bindawalla Gardens combine to offer the most of everything, for the least cost, for the most enjoyment. Please note that bar restrictions do apply so that the bar is open only for certain periods of time. This is to avoid any unnecessary disturbance which may occur from too much merriment!
